Day 1
Marina di Scarlino – Cerboli – Portoferraio
Weigh anchor early in the morning: 22 miles of navigation will bring you to Portoferraio, the most populous town of Elba. Don’t forget to stop for a swim in the wonderful island Cerboli. When you’ll get to Portoferraio, you can moor in the ancient “Darsena Medicea” or in the mooring of the yard “Esaom Cesa”. You can also have a safe anchorage. Not to be missed: the wonderful view from the lighthouse Forte Stella.
Day 2
Portoferraio – Capraia
Let’s now release the mooring! Pearl in the Mediterranean sea, Capraia seems lonely and faraway, but it became a must-see destination for sailors and sea lovers. As the island is exposed to Libeccio, Sirocco and Mistral, you have to be careful: the best place where to moor is the small harbour. Alternatively, use the buoys to have a safe anchorage. Not to be missed: the wild beauty of its sea bottoms, coast and marine environment.
Day 3
Capraia – Macinaggio
Leave and head to Corsica, in particular to Macinaggio. Its beaches are captivating, and are wonderful sweeps of white sand and rock and irregular coasts, where bays and inlets are hidden.
Day 4
Macinaggio – Giraglia – Saint Florent
Point the bow towards Saint Florent. The small town linked to its history, is surrounded by beautiful beaches, bays and is full of vitality. Let’s before anchor in Giraglia to take a swim. The little island at the ends of Cap Corse, uninhabited and wild, is perfect to have some relax.
Day 5
Saint Florent – Centuri – Bastia
Route to Bastia. Take a refreshing swim in the beautiful bay of Centuri, where the crystal sea and the colours of Corsica will surprise you. The town is an outright architectural jewel, enchased among the green of mountains. Not to be missed: Bastia and its history are waiting for you!
Day 6
Bastia – Fetovaia
Come back to Elba and head to Fetovaia. Its beach is one of the most charming of the island, thanks to the promontory that protects it, to its white sandy bottom and to its blue and crystal clear sea. It’s a must-see destination for sailors that love naturalistic and amazing landscape.
Day 7
Fetovaia – Marina di Campo
After a short trait of navigation you are in Marina di Campo, idyllic town of the island. You can have a safe anchorage, because the jetty is not sufficient and mooring could be difficult. Beach is comfortable because it is next to the harbour and nearby you can find also a pinewood where you can stay in a cool place. The tasting of food, joined to a walk in the historic centre, are not to be missed!
Day 8
Marina di Campo – Giglio (Porto)
Lift the sails towards Giglio! Its coast is discontinuous, with rocks spaced out only by inlets and bays. Giglio Porto is the only harbour of the island. Small and picturesque, it is also a residential area with characteristic coloured and narrow houses, that create alleys and small streets.
Day 9
Giglio (Porto) – Giannutri
Proceed to sea, towards Giannutri. Giannutri is also part of the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago and it is the smallest and southernmost of it. It is a tiny treasure: 500 meters large and about 5 kilometres long. In particular, Giannutri is visited by divers, who are attracted by its intact sea bottoms, full of fishes, corals and wrecks of ancient vessels to explore. Coast is rock and full of wonderful grottos and suggestive bays, with two small gravel beaches in Cala dello Spalmatoio e in Cala Maestra.
Day 10
Giannutri – Porto Ercole (Cala Galera)
Sail to Porto Ercole and dock in Cala Galera. From the harbour you can walk along the promenade, which will surprise you with its cafès, restaurants, and terraces with sea view. A tour among alleys, staircases and little squares of the burg that raise on the seaboard is unavoidable. Not to be missed: Forte Filippo, La Rocca and Forte Stella, the three perfectly preserved fortifications where to admire wonderful panoramas.
Day 11
Porto Ercole (Cala Galare) – Talamone
Talamone will charm you with its sandy beaches, its big pinewoods and its blue sea. Bays are typical, and the beach under the Aldobrandeschi’s fortress is a jewel. Its bay is perfect for every sail sport.
Day 12
Talamone – Le Formiche di Grosseto – Porto Azzurro
Sail to Porto Azzurro. Formiche of Grosseto, three isles far from the coast, will attract you to take a refreshing swim. They are real natural uncontaminated paradises: sea bottoms are appreciated by those who love diving and are full of archaeological evidences. Not to be missed: the lively Piazza Matteotti, the main place of meeting of the habitants of Porto Azzurro.
Day 13
Porto Azzurro – Marina di Scarlino
Slowly sail to Marina di Scarlino: you are far from it only 18 miles. These two intense weeks of sea, wind and sailing will certainly remain in your memories. Anchor in Cala Martina, a wonderful bay near the harbour, to take the last swim and say goodbye to the clear and crystal clear sea of the Tuscan Archipelago.
