Day 1
Marina di Scarlino – Marina di Campo
Let’s sail immediately to Elba! Marina di Campo is perfect to start your holiday. If southern winds blow, you must have a safe anchorage. The jetty is not sufficient and mooring could be difficult. Not to be missed: the suggestive colours of the beach and the town of Marina di Campo. Do not forget to taste the food: It is amazing!
Day 2
Marina di Campo – Porto Vecchio
Weigh anchor early in the morning to face at best these 93 miles that divide you from Porto Vecchio. Not to be missed: the panorama and the view on the sea from Torre Genovese, arising in the higher point of the town.
Day 3
Porto Vecchio – Maddalena Island
Point the bow towards Maddalena Island. The biggest island of the homonymous archipelago, La Maddalena, is known all over the word thanks to its beaches and its transparent and clear water that reminds of Caribbean landscapes. Among the others in this island, the most famous is rose beach, a protected strand situated in the North-West of the Archipelago in the island of Budelli.
Day 4
Maddalena Island – Island of Santa Maria
Route to the island of Santa Maria! It is the only permanently inhabited of the Archipelago, with La Maddalena and Caprera. The island has a wonderful beach, Cala S. Maria, with its 200 meters of white and fine sand, wet by crystal water. From the lighthouse Punta Filetto, you can enjoy of a wonderful view on the islands of the Archipelago and on the Strait of Bonifacio.
Day 5
Island of Santa Maria – Caprera (Cala Coticcio)
Lift sails to Caprera, second island of the Maddalena Archipelago in extension. Caprera is enchanting with the cliffs that fall in the sea and with the coast that offers wonderful inlets and bays, among which Cala Coticcio, where you can have a safe anchorage for the night.
Day 6
Caprera (Cala Coticcio) – Liscia di Vacca – Porto Cervo
Today weigh anchor to Porto Cervo! Indisputable capital of the night life of the Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo offers much more: from the little square Delle Chiacchere to Sottopiazza. Before reaching your destination, anchor for a refreshing bath in Liscia di Vacca, with its splendid bay and the turquoise sea.
Day 7
Porto Cervo –Lavezzi Islands
This group of isles situated between Sardinia and Corse, in the Strait of Bonifacio, are a wild paradise to discover. There are lots of beaches, with an extraordinary naturalistic value and great beauty, scattered among small rock inlets. Pay attention: the islands hide many dangers.
Day 8
Lavezzi Islands – Bonifacio
Weigh anchor towards Bonifacio! The beautiful city, beyond the Strait of Bonifacio, is situated on a small calcareous fjord, the panorama on the sea and the beaches under the high cliffs are stunning. The crossing of the archipelago shows atmospheres and colours that seem thousands miles far from our Mediterranean Sea.
Day 9
Bonifacio – Piana island – Cavallo island
Route to Cavallo island! You can stop in Piana island: a dive will refresh you! Piana island is situated on the South-West point of Corse, in front of Capo Sperone. Colours will seduce you! Not to be missed: in the island you can find the villas of the protagonists of the international jet set.
Day 10
Cavallo island – Santa Manza
Not so far, you will find Santa Manza. The deep and tight gulf is perfect to have a safe anchorage. At the far end of it, high calcareous cliffs and big red rocks fall down on the sea. The big fine sandy beach is perfect to sail and the small bordering beaches offer refuge from indiscreet looks. These elements all together create an idyllic contest.
Day 11
Santa Manza – Solenzara
Lift the sails! Solenzara is a small burg of South Corse, situated on the mouth of the river La Solenzara, that separates the rock coast of Nacres in the South from the flat coast in the North. Not to be missed: a walk among the streets and the alleys of the burg to admire the architectural beauties.
Day 12
Solenzana – Marciana Marina
Cut through the sea towards Marciana Marina, a nice town in the North-West coast of Elba. Not to be missed: the inner city and the promenade that preserve the typical nineteenth-century traits of coastal Tuscan towns.
Day 13
Marciana Marina – Marina di Scarlino
After breakfast, leave the harbour of Marciana Marina and head back to Marina di Scarlino. Your sailing holiday is coming to the end, but you still have time to say goodbye to these splendid places. Stop in Cerboli before coming back, and have a last swim!
