Day 1
Marina di Scarlino – Cerboli – Portoferraio
Weigh anchor early mooring early in the morning to face these 22 miles of navigation to reach Portoferraio, the most populous town of Elba. A little de-tour for a dive in Cerboli is compulsory. Its limpid sea lets you feel immediately on holiday. Arriving in Portoferraio, you can moor in the ancient mooring, the “Darsena Medicea”, or in the mooring of the yard “Esaom Cesa”. You can also have a safe anchorage. Not to be missed: the marvellous view from the lighthouse of Forte Stella.
Day 2
Portoferraio – Capraia
Cut through the sea of the Tuscan Archipelago to reach Capraia. A real pearl of the Mediterranean Sea, rock and volcanic, it seems lonely and faraway but becomes a compulsory destination for sailors and sea lovers. Capraia is exposed to Libeccio, Sirocco and Mistral: you can moor in the small harbour of the island or use the buoys to have a safe anchorage. Capraia is a perfect oasis for those who love snorkelling, diving and lonely swimming.
Day 3
Capraia – Saint-Florent
Weigh anchor to the next destination: Saint Florent! The small town, linked to its history, is surrounded by beautiful beaches, inlets and bays and is full of life.
Day 4
Saint Florent – Saleccia – Calvi
After consulting the charts, weigh anchor to Calvi. You may be needing a refreshing swim: Saleccia is perfect to dive, thanks to a beautiful white sandy beach and a crystal blue sea. Calvi is enclosed between the sea and the mountain, and it will attract you thanks to the city walls, the limitless bay and the wonderful beaches that seem endless.
Day 5
Calvi – Ajaccio
Lift the sails! The Corsican capital city will fascinate you thanks to its amazing history. Ajaccio is a unique and magical city: the animated markets and the alleys of the old city are unmissable. Not to be missed: taste the typical dishes, they will make you crazy!
Day 6
Ajaccio – Bonifacio
Weigh anchor in the direction of Bonifacio! The beautiful city, beyond the Strait of Bonifacio, is situated on a small calcareous fjord. The panorama on the sea and the beaches under the high cliffs are stunning. The crossing on the Archipelago shows atmospheres and colours, which seem thousand miles far from our Mediterranean Sea.
Day 7
Bonifacio – La Maddalena
Point the bow towards La Maddalena. The biggest island of the homonymous archipelago, La Maddalena, is known in the world thanks to the beaches and the transparent and clear water that remind Caribbean landscapes. In its territory there are many beaches, as the famous rose beach, protected strand situated in the North-West of the Archipelago in the island of Budelli.
Day 8
La Maddalena – Spargi Island
Route to Spargi Island! The third largest isle of the Maddalena Archipelago is a pleasure to watch: the emerald sea, the white sand and the wind-moulded cliffs make it a jewel of the Mediterranean Sea. The cliffs that face over the sea make it inaccessible on three slopes: you can find some inlets only in the southern slope.
Day 9
Spargi Island – Porto Palma – Caprera
Move to Caprera, the second largest island of Maddalena Archipelago. Caprera is charming with its cliffs that fall in the sea and with its coast. The beach of Porto Palma, in the Southern coast of Caprera, is surrounded by a limpid sea and covered by gold sand, and protected by the time-moulded rose reefs where the Mediterranean scrub grows. You can anchor here for the night, as there isn’t any lack of buoys and jetty here.
Day 10
Caprera – Baja Sardinia – Porto Cervo
Porto Cervo is waiting for you! Unquestionable capital of the night life of Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo offers much more: from Piazza delle Chiacchere to Sottopiazza, where alleys, windows and balconies built in the typical Costa Smeralda style intertwine, and that deserve to be seen. How about stopping for a refreshing bath in Baja Sardinia? You can find crystal water and fine sand. It is perfect!
Day 11
Porto Cervo – Porto Vecchio
Point the bow towards Corse and Porto Vecchio! You will admire surely the panorama and the view above the sea from the Genoese Tower that rises up the higher point of the city. Not to be missed: the white beaches, the transparent and limpid waters and the amazing sea bottoms, perfect for those who love snorkelling.
Day 12
Porto Vecchio - Marina di Campo
Is everything ready for the crossing? Do not waste any other time. Marina di Campo is a wonderful town of Elba. The beach is comfortable, nearby the harbour and protected by a big pinewood where you can stay in a cool place. If Southern winds blow you may have a safe anchorage. The jetty is not sufficient and mooring could be difficult.
Day 13
Marina di Campo – Marina di Scarlino
After breakfast, slowly leave Marina di Campo and go to Marina di Scarlino. Your sailing holiday is unfortunately coming to the end.
