Day 1
Marina di Scarlino – Porto Azzurro
Weigh anchor early in the morning to Porto Azzurro. The vivacity and the welcoming of the town will let you feel thousands miles far from home. The harbour during summer is very crowded. In this case you can have a safe anchorage in front of Porto Azzurro or in Golfo di Mola.
Day 2
Porto Azzurro – Formiche di Grosseto – Giglio (Campese)
Route towards Giglio! Campese is enclosed on a side by a cliff called “Faraglione” and in the other side by the majestic Tower pertaining to the Medici family, that once was completely isolated on the reefs, but today is connected with a small bridge. Before reaching Giglio, with a little de-tour, you can stop for a dive at Formiche di Grosseto. Not to be missed: the sunset in Giglio Campese is unique, keep on hand your camera!
Day 3
Giglio (Campese) – Marina di Campo
Head back to Elba and moor in Marina di Campo, one of the most beautiful bays. When Southern winds blow, you should have a safe anchorage. The jetty is not sufficient and mooring could be difficult in case of Sirocco. Not to be missed: the town of Marina di Campo, the colours of the beach and a lunch or a dinner in one of the typical restaurants.
Day 4
Marina di Campo – Capraia (Punta dello Zenobito)
Capraia is waiting for you! Rock and volcanic, it seems lonely and faraway but it is a must-see destination for those who love sea and sailing. Punta dello Zenobito is the Southernmost point of the island, dominated by a tower. Cala Rossa and Punta dello Zenobito are what remains of an ancient volcano, extinct 5 million years ago. Colours here are wonderful: the blue of the sea, the red of Cala Rossa and the white of Punta dello Zenobito.
Day 5
Capraia (Punta dello Zenobito) – Procchio – Marciana Marina
Sail early in the morning towards Marciana Marina, a sweetly town of Elba, known thanks to its inner city and to the promenade, dated back to the XIX Century. The beach, nearby the harbour and the shops, is very enjoyable. Procchio is perfect for a refreshing dive: the beach is extended for 1 km. The fine sand and the uncontaminated sea make it a desirable destination for many people.
Day 6
Marciana Marina – Marina di Scarlino
Calmly move towards Marina di Scarlino, but you have still time for the last swim in Cerboli, a charming island in the centre of the gulf of Follonica. The suggestive landscapes of the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago and its crystal blue sea will remain surely in the memory of this sailing holiday.
